On this day 565 years ago, Ludovico Sforza, was born.
He was the Duke of Milan between the years of 1494-1499, following the death of his nephew Gian Galeazzo Sforzia. As a member of the notroius Sforza family he was the fourth son of Francesco I Sforzia, Ludovico was famed for being a patron of Leonardo da vinci and many other absolute amazing artists. He then proceeded to presided over the final and most productive stage of the Milanese Renaissance and he is probably best known as the man who commissioned The Last Supper.
The Sforzia name however hasn’t always been known as something that is good, the family name can also be associated with Giovanni Sfozia, the first husband to Lucrezia Borgia, who is known for mistreating his young, beautiful wife.
