So it’s another book reviewing time! And this time I have chosen to review “Dream house” written by Writer and Youtuber, Marzia Bisognin.
I brought this book back in December, but, at the beginning of this year I suffered from a huge amount of “readers block” which is nothing like “writers block” it’s on a whole other scale. But, that will be in a whole other post in the next couple of weeks (look out for it if any of you have been suffering with anything similar).
But, around the beginning of May I thought to myself “I have had enough! I NEEEEEED to read” I had 4 unread books in my iBooks and I wanted them read, since reading is a huge importance to me and having readers block was really beginning to get me down. I had gotten half way on Marzia’s book and really did love the direction it was heading in.. my brain just didn’t want to let me read.
However on May 1st I repicked up this book and began to continue reading as I appeared to remember everything that had happened so far! 😀 which to me, was great! So, like usual I will leave the blurb below and then my review. Enjoy! ❤
When Amethyst comes across her perfect dream house, she can’t help but be enchanted by it, even if there’s something a little…off about the place. It’s everything she’s ever wanted in a home, so when the Blooms invite her to stay the night to avoid the impending storm, she instantly accepts.
Yet when she awakes the next morning, alone and unable to bring herself to leave, Amethyst comes face-to-face with unexpected twists and turns—like Alfred, the creepy gardener; Avery, the handsome but secretive neighbor; and a little girl who keeps appearing and vanishing within the house.
As Amethyst searches for the Blooms and tries to unravel the truth, her connection to the house only grows stronger. Will she be able to break free of the house’s allure, or will its secrets keep her trapped forever?
Intriguing right? This book is honestly fantastic! It is such a page turner, creepy but yet so heart whelming. This book isn’t my typical fave, a romance, yet there is a character within it that the main character Amethyst does have a relationship with and is in love with, Avery. This book at some point did confuse me. I wondered where it was going, like what direction is was taking and where this was going to end? Or rather, how? I think towards the end I started to piece together what I thought was going on and, my predictions were not far off. When you’re looking back at the book once having read it all the signs are there, it literally TELLS you what’s going on, but, you honestly do not cotton on till the end and thats what I really loved! :D. It really does take such a twist.
So, this book gets a firm 10/10 from me! Absolutely awesome :D. Plus, after being a subscriber to Marzia’s Youtube for some time now, the fact I think she is just such a lovely lovely person made me like the book so much more. I saw a lot of her personal self in the lead character too. So if you want a book to completely surprise you, yet be a page turner too, this is the one.
With love, Charlotte x
