So we’re onto seasons 5-7.. LET’S DO THIS!!!
The best thing ever happens.. Lorelai and Luke start a relationship!! Yes that’s right, two of my favourites start a relationship together and it makes me beyond happy! However, Rory trying to have another go at her relationship with Dean did confuse me since he WAS married but I’m not ashamed to admit I was pleased when it ends when he realizes how different their lives are so they shouldn’t be together. THEN we meet wealthy playboy Yale student, Logan which made me happy as I actually liked him! He was a rich boy, but different, I loved it. Best part of the season all together? LORELAI PROPOSING TO LUKE! ❤ (of course he says yes).
In all honesty? Season 6 is my least favourite out the lot, I skipped fast forwarded so much of it due to what was going on. Rory decides to leave Yale and Lorelai is gutted by her actions to go and live with her grandparents due to a huge blow out between them. They don’t speak for months and for me this made the show lose its spark? THEY make the show :(, it’s really sad. But of course eventually she returns to Yale and reunites with Lorelai *PHEW*. It gets exciting though when Lorelai plans a wedding with Luke you can see how excited she is for it, but Luke discovers that he has a 12-year-old daughter named April effectively pushing him and Lorelai apart. Eventually the issues are too much and pushes her to give him an ultimatum.. And this is where it gets awful.. after breaking things off with Luke, Lorelai goes to Christopher.
Again, season 7 seems weird to me? It starts off really weird with Christopher back in everyones lives and it really bugs me because, he did abandon Lorelai to begin with? And it gets worse when she admits to Luke she slept with Christopher. he just leaves, *heart broken*. So! The pair spontaneously marry during a trip in Paris, they are married for a while but there’s something about him I can’t handle? BUT FINALLY Lorelai see’s the light and soon accepts that it isn’t right and they split, this is then when things pick up again for me. Rory completes her final year of college and graduates! I felt like a proud parent watching it and Rory and Logan spend half the season in a long-distance relationship! He then proposes (which I actually got incredibly excited about), but Rory then shocked me hugely by saying that she wants to keep her options open, which leads to them breaking up :/. But she gets lucky with a job reporting on the Barack Obama campaign trail and I got all teary when Stars Hollow threw a surprise goodbye party for her. Again, FINALLY, Lorelai finds out that Luke organized it AND the pair reconcile with a kiss. Effectively making me so happy with how everything ends!
So I am now making my way through Gilmore Girls a Year in the Life! BUT there are rumours a 2nd season is due to arise? So maybe I’ll leave my review on that season when that one is out.. Keep an eye out for it! :D.
With love, Charlotte x
