Book Review, “Saving Sophie” by Sam Carrington ๐Ÿ“š

After reading Alex Caan’s book “Cut to the Bone” ( I got such a feel for thrillers/crime stories! And I got such a feel for it I wanted to read another.. I wanted to become Sherlock ;).. So, I purchased this book not knowing what else to expect. Oh my! What another absolute page turner! I absolutely LOVED this book so so much. I think it’s the feeling of these “Modern day crime stories”, I really connect to them and love them, they’re just so relatable to stories you can/do hear about in the news or online today.

Here’s the blurb:

A teenage girl is missing. Is your daughter involved, or is she next?

Your daughter is in danger. But can you trust her?

When Karen Finchโ€™s seventeen-year-old daughter Sophie arrives home after a night out, drunk and accompanied by police officers, no one is smiling the morning after. But Sophie remembers nothing about how she got into such a state.

Twelve hours later, Sophieโ€™s friend Amy has still not returned home. Then the body of a young woman is found.

Karen is sure that Sophie knows more than she is letting on. But Karen has her own demons to fight. She struggles to go beyond her own door without a panic attack.

As she becomes convinced that Sophie is not only involved but also in danger, Karen must confront her own anxieties to stop whoever killed one young girl moving on to another โ€“ Sophie.

Now if this blurb doesn’t make you want to read this book even more then, WHAT THE HELL GUYS?! It is honestly AMAZING. The book is told in first person from 3 different characters; Karen, Sophie and DI Wade. But also, there are a few beginnings that start off with creepy, in love emails? And you never realise who or what they mean to begin with.. But, this all ties in and it is truly amazing. Sophie is a teenage girl that is put into a situation that no young girl should be put in, she is being threatened by email with pictures she was oblivious to being taken and this is sending her in a frenzy and making this situation 10x’s worse.

But serious, 10/10 book! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a thriller and crime book. Sam Carrington is a brilliant author and I love how this book goes, it takes ย a HUGE turn and I love it.

With love, Charlotte x
