October 31st, 1517: Martin Luther and his 95 Theses. πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’»

October 31st not only announces Halloween πŸŽƒ πŸ•Έ πŸ‘»   but, this day 499 years ago is also the marking of the day Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to a church door! A big big turning point in history.

On October 31st 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to Wittenberg palace church door. It caused quite the stir! For it denounced the selling of papal indulgences and questioned the various ecclesiastical practices of the Catholic Church. During the time of this happening Henry VIII was the king of England at the time and a man married to the catholic religion and he felt what Martin Luther was doing was downright disrespectful and he needed to be punished for his actions.

Therefore he ordered every Lutheran piece of writing in England to be burned, for he found his words monster out and wanted any Lutheran supporter to be burned also for they were destroying the word of God. Helping him achieve this was Sir Thomas More a firm Catholic man who absolutely detested any Lutheran supporter and Luther himself claiming him to be the form of the actual anti-Christ himself. With the Kings permission More helped burn a huge amount of Lutherans and had no remorse for doing it.

This here, through Martin Luthers single act, marked the start of the Protestsnt Reformation in Germany and not long after England.

With love, Charlotte x

Ps. Happy Halloween guys! Have a great time and enjoy doing all things creepy πŸ•ΈπŸ‘»πŸŽƒ
