This has to be one film I have been putting off seeing for ages now, not because I thought it would be crap or anything, just due to the fact I was not prepared for how many tears I KNEW were coming :(.
Last year I read the book “Me Before You” by JoJo Moyes and it literally broke my heart so badly. I get invested into every book I read, that’s the love of being a book worm! That you take on every story you read as if the characters are people you know for a few hours, or days, but THIS literally pulled so hard at my heart strings. I think I was emotionally broken for longer then I was after “The Fault in Our Stars” (which I’ll have you know broke one of my best friends who’s heart is like stone). The story itself is just absolutely beautiful, even with the gut wrenching ending… If none of you guys know what I am speaking about, I went into much more detail on the book and characters in a post last year! Go check that out FIRST before you carry on reading this:
For the people who have read the book and know the plot line.. OMG! What a film!! Emilia Clark and Sam Claflin literally portrayed the lead roles so sooo well! In my eyes at least. Sam got Will Trainer’s character traits down so incredibly well it was as if JoJo Moyes had written the part especially FOR him and Emilia literally showed off such brilliant acting skills, with going from Daenerys Targaryen a strong headed dragon mother to Louisa Clark a witty, scatty headed and hilarious woman.
Both actors did a fantastic job! There were scenes in the book that I think maybe could have been included in the film? But! The film really didn’t disappoint at all, it made me cry a shit ton, the bond and connection between Emilia and Sam showed so incredibly well in their characters and you could tell the upset was also real too. I want to give it a 10/10! An absolute MUST see! GO SEE IT!
With love, Charlotte x
