It is very rare that when it comes to peoples photos these days that there isn’t at least a little editing done to it and the one app I have to edit photos is one I’ve used for ages now 🙂 so I thought id show you how I edit my photos :).
Firstly, you take your picture (yes mine was random I apologise) and you open it up in “AfterLight”, you then find all the settings below, where you can enhance your picture’s brightness, contract etc. and you can then choose a filter where there is quite a few to choose from.
You then get a section where there is photo filters to go on top of the photo you have already edited, then a section to rotate, flip and crop your picture to suit your satisfaction. I then chose to start with the brightness of my picture enhancing it to 55, I then upped the contrast too to 50. I did this because I feel it enhances the colours and brought them out a lot more from the original.
I then flicked through a few of my favourite filters which are; russ, finn, dallas, dreamy, bright fire, marine, olive, hollow. My favourites here for this picture are; dallas, olive and finn. And in the end I went with finn.
I then messed around with the next photo editing skill, which is putting an effect on top of the filter. I started off in dusty on number 01 which gave the photo a specie dusty feel. I then went and browsed through light leak and found the 01 effect again which gave a light shadow effect to it! Which I actually quite liked 🙂 it looked cool. I then carried on messing around and found myself settling on the dusty 01, I liked the effect it had on the picture.
I then decided I wanted a boarder to go round it, so i went and headed to the boarder section and chose the effect I always use, where it puts a white boarder either around it leaving white at the sides. I also then thought I would add a quirky curving to the actual picture within the boarder. And I then saved it!
So this is how I would go through a photo and edit it, I try not to do as much editing as I’ve done here but, I was just showing you the other features and using them to show what you could have if you wanted 🙂 Afterlight to me is the best editing app though, it still keeps the photo real just adds a little colour effect here and there :).
