I have 21 days till I am back to Uni to start my second year of my History course and I can not tell you how excited I am to get back into everything! I actually thought I would really enjoy all this time off Uni when it came to starting my summer, but I have to admit I actually miss being busy, which I know come half way through second year I will probably be posting something completely different BUT right now I can not wait. So I thought I would go out and buy some stationary so I was all ready and prepared because I learnt how to organise my module notes next year so hopefully I do the same this year!
So, what I found was a really good way of organising your work so you keep on top of everything as a first year is to buy different note pads for each of your modules so in my case that meant 6 different books for lectures plus, 6 tiny note pads for my seminars, this meant that when it came to revision last year I found having done this that I actually found my notes to revise with ready for exams a lot more easier and I was really pleased I did this as I could just find them so much easier then having to root through notes hoping to find the right ones for my revision. So this is something I would suggest you to do if you’re a first year this year, don’t let yourself get so snowed under and stressed out with your work, try and do this to help yourself relax a bit more then you might when it comes to revision and exams. Also, who doesn’t love new books and stationary? Because I do.. its a sad/embarrassing confession. Plus make it all pretty stationary so it makes everything seem much brighter and bearable. I would recommend Wilkos (which is where I got all mine), WHSmith or Ryman for things like this, or maybe even Asda.
So, I hope if you’re a first year uni student and you are reading this that you might take it on board, as it really is something I found incredibly helpful for my first year and I hope might help you too.
With love, Charlotte x
